End-of-Week MacDougall (7/29/16): A Different Larry

I was surfing around ye olde cyberspace this morning, looking for another Elmore piece to share, as per usual. But I stumbled upon the work of a different Larry: Larry MacDougall! You can check him out on Tumblr. His work seems familiar. Wondering what publications I've seen it in before...anyone have a clue to send my way?

Mr. MacDougall's work is reminiscent of John Howe in a way...perhaps because it the images seem dream-like, with a softness to them that's hard to describe. I also see shades of Charles Vess...but that's just me coming from my own biases.

Ultimately, the art reminds me of what you might encounter in the Beyond the Wall RPG, as it depicts more mystical and whimsical settings and characters. What do you think?

Have a great weekend, and happy gaming!

End-of-Week Elmore (7/22/16): White Dragon Lady

It's HOT under the "heat dome" covering much of the U.S. right now! I would love to have a white dragon in my employ, to use as a portable air conditioning unit. Stay cool, folks!

End-of-Week In Memoriam (7/8/16): RIP Steven Russell

Steven Russell, the man behind Rite Publishing, passed away this week in a car accident.

A GoFundMe has been set up to support his family.

My deepest sympathies to Steven's family. He did an incredible job honoring the legacy of Amber DRPG and Erick Wujcik, another role-playing icon who was taken from us too soon.

Steven was kind enough to let me help edit portions of the Lords of Gossamer and Shadow core book and the Long Walk supplement. I'm honored to have done my small part in helping support Steven's vision for the future of diceless roleplaying.

May you rest in peace Steven, knowing that you brought joy and excitement to fellow gamers. May your adventures continue forever in worlds beyond this mortal realm.
